Twenty minutes to Slough, and the M4 does the rest.

Slough is on our doorstep and the M4 corridor runs straight through our patch, which is why a lot of our industrial and distribution work sits in Berkshire. Windsor, Maidenhead, Bracknell and Reading are all comfortable day-return sites for our crews and plant.

Short travel means early starts actually start early, and a decision can be made on site rather than over the phone.

Send the plans, the scope and the dates you need to hit. You get an honest answer on whether it suits us.

Step 2 of 5 Site visit

We walk it and check access, levels, ground conditions and services. Most surprises get found here rather than mid-dig.

Step 3 of 5 Measured price

A priced package with the build order set out and a start date we are willing to commit to.

Step 4 of 5 On site

Our own crews, plant and supervision, with one point of contact reporting as the works progress.

Step 5 of 5 Handover

Working in Berkshire

Gravel, flood plain and a lot of large-footprint sheds.

Much of the Thames valley sits on river terrace gravels with a high water table, which changes the dig, the dewatering and sometimes the foundation solution entirely. Parts of the county are in flood zone, which brings its own drainage and attenuation requirements.

The other Berkshire constant is scale: distribution and industrial units mean big slabs, long drainage runs and serious muck away volumes, all of which are planning problems before they are digging problems.

River gravels and water table Dewatering allowed for up front rather than found mid-dig. Flood zone drainage Attenuation and discharge rates designed to the requirement. Large-footprint slabs Power-floated floors laid to the specified tolerance. High-volume muck away Haulage planned so the wagons do not run the programme.

“They priced the package, sequenced it properly, then ran it the way they said they would. We were not chasing anyone.”
James Whitmore Project Manager · main contractor
“Straight answers when things moved on site, and the programme held. Worth more than the cheapest number on the tender.”
Michael Bennett Quantity Surveyor · developer
“Site came back to us cleared and inspected, so our follow-on trades were not picking up after them.”

Berkshire questions

Asked on this side of town.

If yours is not here, ring the office — it is usually a two-minute answer.

A great deal of our Berkshire work is exactly that: large-footprint slabs, long drainage runs and high-volume muck away, priced from the drawings with the haulage plan set out.

Where the site investigation shows groundwater, dewatering is allowed for in the price and planned as part of the works, rather than discovered with an open hole on site.

Yes. Attenuation volumes, discharge rates and finished levels follow the drainage strategy, and we build to it rather than around it.

Whatever the specification calls for. Tell us the standard and tolerance class up front and we will price to it, including the sub-base and joint layout that decide whether it is achievable.

Yes. The whole county is inside our normal working area, priced the same as a job closer to the yard.
