The Gatwick belt is well inside our range.

Crawley, Horsham and Haywards Heath are a straightforward run from Hillingdon, and the commercial development around Gatwick has kept us on that side of the patch regularly.

We will always tell you honestly whether distance makes us the right contractor for a given job. Where it does, the travel is in the price, not added afterwards.

Send the plans, the scope and the dates you need to hit. You get an honest answer on whether it suits us.

Step 2 of 5 Site visit

We walk it and check access, levels, ground conditions and services. Most surprises get found here rather than mid-dig.

Step 3 of 5 Measured price

A priced package with the build order set out and a start date we are willing to commit to.

Step 4 of 5 On site

Our own crews, plant and supervision, with one point of contact reporting as the works progress.

Step 5 of 5 Handover

Inspected, signed off and cleared, ready for the follow-on trades to start on programme.

Working in Sussex

Weald clay, greensand and a lot of protected landscape.

The Sussex Weald is heavy clay that holds water and turns quickly in bad weather, with greensand further south and chalk along the Downs. Formation protection and wet-weather working are planned rather than hoped for.

Large parts of the county sit in the High Weald or South Downs National Park, where access, storage and hours are all constrained, and the approvals take longer than people allow for.

Weald clay Formation protection and wet-weather working planned for. National park and AONB Designation checked against the address before setting out. Rural access Wagon size and turning worked out before we mobilise. Drainage discharge Attenuation and rates agreed with the authority early.

Sussex questions

Asked on this side of town.

If yours is not here, ring the office — it is usually a two-minute answer.

The Crawley, Horsham and Haywards Heath belt is. Further along the coast we will still look at it, and we will tell you honestly if travel makes us the wrong choice for that job.

Formation protection, capping and a realistic programme. Heavy clay turns quickly, so we would rather allow for it than promise a dry-weather rate and then stand down.

Yes. What changes is the approval route and the constraints on access, storage and hours, so the designation is checked against the address before anything is set out.

Yes. Section 278 works follow the authority’s specification and inspection regime, with permits and traffic management arranged by us.

Yes, clearance through to external works under one contract, which is how most of our work runs wherever the site is.
