Hard & Soft Landscaping

Kerbing, paving, tarmac, fencing, turfing and planting — the external works that take a site from structurally complete to actually finished.

Overview

The stage your client actually sees

External works are the last thing done and the first thing looked at. Nobody inspects the foundations at handover; everyone looks at the kerb lines, the paving joints and whether the levels drain the way they should.

It is also the stage most likely to be squeezed, which is why we price it properly up front and sequence it against the rest of the programme rather than treating it as whatever time is left.

The stage your client actually sees
Finished to handover Levels, lines and drainage falls all checked
Levels that drain

Falls set so water goes where it should, checked before paving is laid rather than after it ponds.

Lines you can see

Kerb and paving lines set out properly, because these are the details a client notices.

Sequenced, not squeezed

Priced and programmed up front rather than compressed into whatever time is left.

Yes. Plenty of our external works jobs are for main contractors who used somebody else for the substructure. We price from your drawings either way.

Yes — base and wearing course for car parks, access roads and footways, as well as block paving, flags and natural stone.

We check the finished levels against the drawing before we lay anything. If the design does not drain we will tell you at that point rather than build it and argue afterwards.

Yes, and on live sites we usually have to. Areas are done in sections so access and parking stay usable throughout.

Establishment maintenance can be included if you want it priced — watering, replacement of failures and cuts through the first season. Tell us the period you need.
