The M3 corridor, at the southern edge of our patch.

Basingstoke, Farnborough and Aldershot are a clean run down the M3, and the business parks along that corridor have kept us working in the county. It is the southern edge of where we operate, and we are straight about that.

If distance makes us the wrong contractor for a particular job, we will say so rather than price it and then struggle to service it.

Step 3 of 5 Measured price

A priced package with the build order set out and a start date we are willing to commit to.

Step 4 of 5 On site

Our own crews, plant and supervision, with one point of contact reporting as the works progress.

Working in Hampshire

Chalk, clay and a good deal of MoD estate.

North Hampshire is largely chalk with clay overlying it in places, which is predictable ground once the investigation is read. What is less predictable is what is buried on it: this is an area with a long military history and a lot of estate that has been built on more than once.

Aldershot and Farnborough bring Ministry of Defence work with it, and that means vetting, escorted access and phasing that is set by the establishment rather than by us.

Chalk and overlying clay Founding depth read from the investigation, verified on site. MoD and secure estates Vetting and escorted access planned into the programme. Made ground and obstructions Old foundations and services allowed for up front. Business park phasing Works sequenced around occupied units and their access.

“They priced the package, sequenced it properly, then ran it the way they said they would. We were not chasing anyone.”

“Straight answers when things moved on site, and the programme held. Worth more than the cheapest number on the tender.”
Michael Bennett Quantity Surveyor · developer
“Site came back to us cleared and inspected, so our follow-on trades were not picking up after them.”

Hampshire questions

Asked on this side of town.

If yours is not here, ring the office — it is usually a two-minute answer.

The Basingstoke, Farnborough and Aldershot belt along the M3 is. Further south and west we will look at it, but we will tell you honestly if travel makes us the wrong contractor.

Yes. Vetting, escorted access and establishment-set phasing are built into the programme rather than treated as an obstacle discovered on week one.

On sites with a long build history we allow for obstructions and old foundations. Anything genuinely unforeseeable gets flagged the same day and priced before we carry on.

Travel is priced into the job transparently. What moves the number more is site access, ground conditions and haulage distance for muck away.

Yes, clearance through to external works under one contract, which is how most of our work runs.
