The Thames corridor is a regular run for us.

Thurrock, Basildon and Brentwood sit on routes our wagons already use, and Chelmsford is inside a working morning. Much of our Essex work is industrial and distribution, which suits the way we are set up.

Where we are not the nearest contractor, we will say so. Where we are the right one, the travel is priced into the job rather than added later.

Send the plans, the scope and the dates you need to hit. You get an honest answer on whether it suits us.

Step 2 of 5 Site visit

We walk it and check access, levels, ground conditions and services. Most surprises get found here rather than mid-dig.

Step 3 of 5 Measured price

A priced package with the build order set out and a start date we are willing to commit to.

Step 4 of 5 On site

Our own crews, plant and supervision, with one point of contact reporting as the works progress.

Step 5 of 5 Handover

Working in Essex

London Clay, soft alluvium and big footprints.

Much of Essex is London Clay, which is well understood and predictable. Nearer the estuary you get soft alluvial deposits where a piled solution is usually the answer rather than a deeper footing, and where the dig behaves very differently.

The scale is the other factor. Distribution and industrial units mean large slabs, long drainage runs and high-volume muck away, so the haulage plan matters as much as the engineering.

London Clay and alluvium Foundation solution taken from the investigation, not the postcode. Piled substructures Caps and beams formed and poured over the piling contractor’s work. Large-footprint slabs Power-floated floors laid to the specified tolerance. High-volume muck away Wagon count and route set out before we mobilise.

Essex questions

Asked on this side of town.

If yours is not here, ring the office — it is usually a two-minute answer.

Yes, and a lot of our Essex work is exactly that. Large slabs, long drainage runs and serious muck away volumes, priced from the drawings with the haulage plan included.

Piling is a specialist package and we work alongside the piling contractor. We take over at the caps: forming, reinforcing and pouring over the installed piles, and casting the beams between them.

The site investigation decides it. Soft alluvium usually means a piled solution rather than a deeper footing, and we price what the engineer has designed rather than what we would prefer to dig.

Travel is built into the price transparently. If distance makes us the wrong contractor for a particular job, we will tell you rather than pad the number.

Yes, and on a large footprint it is usually the cheaper way to run it, because the sequence stays with one contractor.
